The dome of the Milky Way under the main Himalayan ridge. There are 3 of the 5 highest mountains in world - Everest (8,850 m), Lhotse (8,516 m) and Makalu (8,485 m). And the biggest glacier lies underneath them - Ngonsumpa Glacier which is 36 km long. This picture is crowned by recently rised Moon and Venus. To make this photo I had to spent the whole night through without a tent, sleeping bag and hot tea on the top of Gokyo Ri (5,483 m) - the small peak, that rises under the highest settlement on the Earth - Gokyo (4,750 m). There was damn cold and this cost me much effort, but all the feelings and breathtaking views were really worthwhile. Nepal, Himalayas, Everest region, Gokyo Ri (5,483 m), 2014 | 48 sec, f/2.8, ISO 1600, FL 15 mm (Canon EOS 5D Mark III + Canon EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye) via 500px
