8. Fact: Not as cold as you might think by CludesTomato
Hi Guys! Here is my fact number 8 of 12 why travelling in winter times to iceland will simply blow your mind. 8. Fact: Not as cold as you might think: When I told people that I'm planning to visit Iceland during winter, they were like „really, you want to mess with the arctic cold in winter times?“. When most people are thinking about winter temperatures in Iceland, they are thinking about temperatures around -20C° (-4F°). The truth is that the avarage day temperature during winter times in Iceland is 0 to -3C° (32 to 27F°). When you are now thinking that these are exactly the same degrees you have at home, you might be right! ;-) BTW here is the best weather forcast site for Iceland. You can find here also predictions for wind conditions, the Aurora and more. STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT FACTS & SHOTS! You can find the other facts here: 1. Fact: WINDSTORMS 2. Fact: ICY WATERFALLS 3. Fact: AURORA BOREALIS 4. Fact: ICE CAVES 5. Fact: LIGHT CONDITIONS 6. Fact: LESS CROWDED 7. Fact: LOWER PRICES 8. 5. Fact: Light conditions by CludesTomato

Hi Guys! First of all I wish you all a happy new year and all the best for 2015! Here is my fact number 5 of 12 why travelling in winter times to iceland will simply blow your mind. 5. Light conditions during winter: When travelling to Iceland during winter time you need to consider that there will be only about 4-5h of day light. Additionally the sun will slowly move on a very low level on the south horizon. On this page you can find a table with the sun and moon times for Iceland. Provided by this, if weather conditions are good, you will have during winter times constantly 5-6h of the best photography light conditions, which in my opinion is sunrise and sunset, including the blue hour. During winter times on Iceland the sunrise will directly move over in to the sunset which gives you a permanent fantastic light for these 5-6 hours. If you now ask yourself what to do with the rest of your time after its getting early dark? You can shoot the famous northern lights as they are only visible during the night. STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT SHOTS! You can find the other facts here: 1. Fact: WINDSTORMS 2. Fact: ICY WATERFALLS 3. Fact: AURORA BOREALIS 4. Fact: ICE CAVES 5. Fact: LIGHT CONDITIONS If you like my shots you can find some more on: my HOMEPAGE via 500px
