Paths of Ice and Sun by davidmangels

Unseasonably warm weather marked my excursion to the ice bubbles of Lake Abraham. Temperatures in the forties and fifties were quickly degrading the quality of the ice and bubbles. It did however create the lovely conditions of pockets of surface meltwater pools, and textured riffles across the lake. On this particular evening, we started with flat gray clouds and little hope of a good sunset. Once it became clear that the light was going to go off, I was frantically looking for a good foreground to capture the moment I was seeing. Best night on the lake for me. © David J.
