Down... by bobobird
A very close encounter with a red-tailed hawk. He was in a tree not far away but I never expected him to drop so close to my position. Look at those squirrel killers - not something anyone would want to tangle with. :) Apart from a very minor compositional crop, this is almost full frame. via 500px

Epic by marklseawell
In life we aren't always sure. Doubt is a part of human nature and we all experience it at some level. Did we do it right? Is it correct? What if I'm wrong? Doubt that grows out of control is the fuel of inaction and the sibling of failure. But sometimes we do know. Sometimes, there is no doubt. And when I pressed the shutter to capture this moment I knew....epic. via 500px

Clash of the white-tailed eagles ! by marioseveri
We returned yesterday from Poland where we stayed 4 days taking pictures of white-tailed eagles in the hides of Marcin Nawrocki (http://ift.tt/1ykZb3i en http://ift.tt/1zltviM). I came back almost 9000 pictures so still a lot of work to go through them, but here are the first results. via 500px

I really like iconic lone trees, and this is no exception. Before leaving Wanaka for good I wanted to capture this tree correctly. The colors are very hard to get right at this location, hopefully this turned out naturally enough. Available for your home here: http://ift.tt/1ylfOw3 via 500px

Posting inspiration comes from a post by Francisco Marty, a good and talented fellow photographer found here on 500px, he posted an image the other day of a Manhattan sky line, mentioned me in his top comment, which was nice, and also replied to a comment that I made that he thought of seeing me pop between taxi cabs. So here it is, something I did indeed take while popping through cabs! :-) In case anyone is wondering it is all about how you manage the red and green lights to have time to get your shots in while at the same time staying alive....... :-) Hope everybody is doing great! via 500px

Night Symphony by iluvmtns2
Looks really great when viewed on a black screen. The moon is this image was a crescent moon about 4 days old, which still allowed me to see and capture the Milky Way. Because I only had a 17mm lens with me rather than a 14mm lens I took three shots and then blended together so as to have both the moon and the Milky Way in the scene. The Milky Way extended over my head all the way to the horizon to the south. Just so amazing to see but unable to capture without looking straight up and shooting many shots and then blending together. The wind was strong and really cold, thank goodness the Joshua Trees don't move a lot. They were moving some taking away some of the sharpness on the trees and ground bushes. Thank you Marc Adamus for an exceptional workshop, I learn so much from you. Can't say enough good about you and your workshop. via 500px

A short moment of winter by MariskaVegter
The winter in the Netherlands seems to be hiding somewere underneat a rock, sometimes it gives us a short moment of happiness to dissapear again in the next hours. So when it shows itself a little the photographer needs to get up and enjoy every second! via 500px

When capturing this image, I could not help but to notice how nature provided each level of beauty. Grass, to trees, to mesa, to mountains, to sky. All work together in perfect synchrony. via 500px

Pro Vision by joe_plasmatico
Happy new year and welcome back to my site. It has been a long time since my last post. Forgive me, my computer just let me down and I had to restore thousands of exposures. Glad that most of my stuff was recovered. Now, with a new monster machine, new software, new monitor and a fatal bank account left behind I am back on track. Isn't it funny that the bank clerk knows me by name now?^^ Anyway, I will pay them back sometime^^ Lacking any willing models I focused on this umbrella, fitting quiet well in this scenery. Hope you all feel good, keep on grooving. via 500px
